The Institute of Procedural Law has a research team of 10, with 9 Ph.D. holders, 4 professors, 4 associate professors, and 2 lecturers. The main teaching and research areas of the institute include criminal procedure, civil procedure, evidence law, arbitration, criminal investigations, Judicial Documents, Judicial Institutions. The research results have drawn wide academic attention and generated substantial social effects especially in respect of crossing substantive and procedural law studies, fundamental theory and practice studies in criminal procedure, fundamental theory and dispute resolution studies in civil procedure, theory and practice of evidence law, prevention of wrongful convictions, and judicial reform studies. The University and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate Joint Center for Prosecutorial Theory Studies, and the University Center for Criminal Justice and Policy Studies are now actively promoting the institutionalization of a think tank to enhance the theoretical studies and the cooperation with the practicing legal departments.
